UCP hosts sensory camp for children with disabilities
United Cerebral Palsy of Huntsville and Tennessee Valley, Inc. hosts its 2008 "Camp I CAN" June 2-6 for children ages 4-7, and June 16-20 for children ages 8-12.
 
This year’s sensory camp experience for children with disabilities is “Pirates Cove” and will include community arts, music, water and sand play, tie-dye, arts and crafts, sensory activities, computer fun, snack time and much more. Camp is located at the UCP Therapy Center, 2075 Max Luther Drive in Huntsville, and is offered daily, 9 a.m.-noon, for one week per age group. Cost is $125. Medicaid primary insurance payments accepted. Limited spaces are available on a first come, first served basis.

Hillwood Baptist Church's Vacation Bible School
June 16-20, from  8:30 am until 12 noon.  This years theme is Outrigger Island "Living God's Unshakable Truth".  Classes are being offered for grades K-6th.  An adult class is being offered as well.  Hillwood Baptist Church is located at 300 Kohler Rd, just south of the Mountain Gap Rd/S. 5th annual Kyle Brady Memorial Blood Drive

UCP of Huntsville & Tennessee Valley, Inc. will once again participate in the 5th annual Kyle Brady Memorial Blood Drive, hosted by LifeSouth Community Blood Centers, on Saturday, June 21, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Glenn Campbell Photography on Bob Wallace Ave in Huntsville.

Enjoy free refreshments, music, a moon bounce and balloons for kids. Information on a variety of North Alabama community resources will also be available, including Locks of Love, the Huntsville Fire and Rescue Department, and UCP.

Kyle Brady, diagnosed with Down syndrome at birth, received physical therapy services at UCP. He died of leukemia when he was 22 months old on May 4, 2004. The first Kyle Brady Memorial Blood Drive was held less than two months later on what would have been his second birthday.
